   Mär Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in sculptural painting. Her work dissects dominance, aggression and power dynamics through the lens of a culturally-enforced binary system. She received a BFA in Studio Art and a BA in Art History at the University of Central Florida, and will pursue her MFA in Painting at Hunter.

Martinez was the 2024 - 2025 recipient of the Fulbright Creative Arts Research Award, where she created a body of paintings about the handweaving process. She is affiliated with the Sadberk Hanım Museum and the Mirmar Sinan Fine Arts Univeristy, where she conducted this handwoven textiles and natural dye processes research in Istanbul, Turkiye.

     Upcoming solo exhibitions include: a loom, a fence, a wire, a thread, Art & History Museums Maitland, FL. 2026, unraveling, Hammond Gallery at Jacksonville State University, AL, 2026, and Handwoven Histories, Gadsden Museum of Art, AL, 2027.
